Clergy and Staff The Reverend William Bulson Rector Fr William Bulson grew up in the Diocese of Lexington and studied Slavic languages and literatures in college and graduate school, and went to Virginia Theological Seminary. He has studied abroad in Russia and Turkey and has lived in Italy and Japan, including service in the Diocese of Tokyo for seven years. He has served in churches of various social classes and has worked most in multi-ethnic and –lingual congregations, including serving a majority Hmong congregation in the Diocese of Minnesota. His ecumenical work has been especially with the Eastern Orthodox. He has spent time as a novice monk in a contemplative Episcopal monastery in Wisconsin and is an oblate in the Order of Julian of Norwich. He is an avid reader of poetry and literary biography, is an enthusiastic but sub-par Japanese gardener, and could talk for hours about jazz and hockey. Paul Aparicio was ordained to the Diaconate in 2017 after studying at the Deacon School in the Diocese of Fond du Lac. Prior to that he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Platteville. Out in the world, he is employed as a Project Leader in the automated machine industry. In addition, he serves as Board Chair with Love In the Name of Christ of Sheboygan County (Love INC) helping match neighbors in need with ministries across 40-plus local churches. Being raised up at Grace, he has had an affinity for Our Lady of Walsingham and in 2018 became a Deacon Associate of the Holy House in Walsingham, England. He leads Holy Rosary on Monday evenings in the Lady Chapel and is often accompanied by his wife, Andrea, and their three children. In the wider church, he serves on the Commission on Ministry for the Diocese of Fond du Lac, the Finance Committee for the Association of Episcopal Deacons, and Worship Committee for the 80th General Convention of The Episcopal Church. Weddings Thank you for considering All Saints Chapel in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, or Grace Episcopal Church, Sheboygan, Wisconsin, for your wedding ceremony or renewal of your marriage vows. All Saints Chapel is a chapel of Grace Episcopal Church in Sheboygan. All Saints is beautiful and holy ground, and we sincerely hope you will celebrate your special day with us! We offer you this guide to help you plan your wedding or renewal of vows at Grace Church or All Saints Chapel so that your ceremony is faithful to your life as a couple and to Christian worship. Please read through this guide for practical direction and for introduction to the deeper meaning of vows made in church. Christian marriage “signifies to us the mystery of the union between Christ and his Church, and Holy Scripture commends it to be honored among all people.” (The Book of Common Prayer , page 423) Grace Episcopal Church and its chapel, All Saints, are above all, houses of worship and active ministry. All Saints is served by the Rector of Grace Church and other Episcopal clergy under the authority of the Rt. Rev Matthew Gunter, Bishop of the Diocese of Fond du Lac, and are part of the worldwide Anglican Communion. In the summer months, All Saints Chapel has regular Sunday services and is visited by our Bishop annually. All Saints Chapel is not a “wedding venue,” as such. It is, indeed, a beautiful, holy place where you as a couple, like so many couples with their loved ones throughout the years, can joyfully solemnize your vows and receive God’s blessing. Applications, Arrangements, Expectations ​ Inquiry/applications are made by contacting Grace Church: (920)-452-9659 or ParishAdministrator@gracesheboygan.com . You will be referred to Grace Church’s wedding ministry team who will guide you through the next steps. Weddings at All Saints Chapels are held from May 1 through October 31. All applications for marriage or renewal of vows must be complete and submitted to Grace Church at least sixty (60) days prior to the wedding date. It is strongly encouraged, however, that couples plan at least one year in advance to secure a presiding minister and the date you desire at All Saints. All applications, including your choice of presiding clergy, are accepted with the approval of the Rector, or head priest, of Grace Episcopal Church. Ordained Christian ministers of other denominations are welcome to preside at weddings at All Saints. The Rector of Grace Church is happily available for requests to preside at your wedding, as well. Wedding services are performed according to rites and vows of recognized denominations or churches, and with approval of the Rector of Grace Church. For weddings at Grace Church in Sheboygan, the Rector of Grace Church will normally be the officiant of your wedding. Please contact the church as soon as possible for the Rector's availability. Pre-marital counseling is required for all couples getting married at All Saints whether you have counseling with your own choice of clergy or counselor, or with clergy of Grace Church. The Rector will accept a letter from your presiding minister or counselor, no later than sixty (60) days in advance of your wedding date, affirming you have been or will be adequately prepared and instructed for Christian matrimony (often by three or four counseling sessions). Along with acceptance of your application and the letter concerning your pre-marital counseling, the wedding date is secured by a non-refundable deposit of $750 no later than sixty (60) days prior to your wedding. This deposit will be applied to remaining wedding fees. Please notice the fees that are applicable to “Members” and “Guest Couples.” For the purposes of wedding applications and fees, a "member" is someone who has been attending Grace Church/All Saints for a reasonable period of time, is known to the Clergy, Wardens (elected lay leaders), and Treasurer of Grace Church through their involvement in ministry and Christian formation, and by some level of financial commitment to the life of congregation. All Saints Chapel can accommodate 40 seated guests with a limit of 48 persons maximum in the Chapel at any time. Prior to and on your wedding day, the couple, guests, photographers, wedding consultants, food servers, etc., shall follow the direction of the hosts and representatives of Grace Church closely, charitably, and graciously. Couples and guests agree to make every reasonable effort to keep All Saints, St Hubertus Hall, and the chapel grounds clean and in good condition. Failure to do so according to the judgement of Grace Church will result in forfeiture of the cleaning deposit ($250). If you choose to have a wedding with Grace Church clergy or other Episcopal clergy as Officiant, at least one person of the couple must be baptized. If the Rector or other Grace Church or Episcopal priest will preside at your wedding, Holy Communion will be celebrated at your wedding. If the Rector or other clergy of Grace Church or other Episcopal clergy will preside at your wedding, and if one or both members of the couple have been previously divorced, a copy of the divorce decree and proof of fulfillment of attending obligations must be presented to the clergy no later than sixty (60) days prior to your wedding. If you choose the Rector or other Grace or other Episcopal clergy to preside at your wedding, you will be instructed to follow the counsel and direction of your priest concerning liturgy planning, music, readings, etc., according to the Book of Common Prayer and the rites and worship supplements of the Episcopal Church. Wedding rehearsals at All Saints Chapel are not available for the day before the wedding; rehearsals will be held the morning of the wedding ONLY. The chapel is staffed with volunteers from Grace Episcopal and we ask that they be treated with patience and respect for the time and service to you. ​ Fees ​​ Use of All Saints Chapel and Saint Hubertus Hall by Members: No fee Use of All Saints Chapel and Saint Hubertus Hall by Guest Couples: $1,000 If Grace Church clergy presiding, Minimum Honorarium for clergy: $500 Refundable cleaning deposit - Members or Guest Couples: $250 (Will be refunded within 2 weeks after the buildings and grounds have been checked following the ceremony.) ​ ​ ​ On Your Wedding Day ​ Although there are facilities available in St Hubertus Hall for bridal preparation, space and privacy are limited. Wedding parties may prefer to come to the chapel already dressed. Please arrive no later than sixty (60) minutes prior to your wedding. Flowers may be placed throughout most of the church. No more than two flower arrangements (one on either side) may be placed on the altar. Flowers beside or in front of the altar on the floor are acceptable. Candles may be placed on the altar. No candles or flower arrangements may be placed on the Chandeliers in the Chapel. Other decoration must be approved by the Grace ministry team, consulting as needed with the rector of Grace Church. Because the outward, sacramental sign of the couple’s unity is above all the Holy Communion, along with the vows and the blessing of the couple’s commitment, a unity candle is not used at All Saints, regardless of the denomination of clergy or Christian rite used. Rice, confetti or bubbles are not allowed. Rose petals may be used outside the chapel but NOT inside. No smoking is allowed inside of All Saints Chapel or St. Hubertus Hall.

Feel free to ask a priest or usher any question you wish. ​ ​ ​ Our Mission in the Community: ​ As an Anglo-Catholic congregation, we know Christ has sent us out to encounter him not only on the altar or in the congregation, but to encounter Christ in the people who live outside our walls, too, especially in the poorest and most troubled. “Sent out” is what the word mission means. We pray at every celebration of the Mass for the life of the world and this is our first and last mission. We likewise take all prayer requests for any concern. People may write them on cards and put them in a drop-box in the church, make a request to our church office online, or in any other way people would like to contact us. We will pray for those specific concerns at rosary prayer and Evening Prayer throughout the week in our Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham. There, we ask Holy Mary and all the saints to pray with us for the life of the world. Members of Grace Church are incredibly generous, giving on their own of their time, talent, and money to various charities, very often in hidden ways and sometimes at considerable cost to themselves. Grace has given generously as a congregation to various ministries and needs over the years. Recently, Grace donated substantially to Episcopal Migration Ministries in support of Afghan refugees. Grace parish members for years have participated in Meals and Wheels, lead AA groups, helped found Love INC, as well as sharing in board and service duties in that effective organization. And our parish’s governing board, or vestry, is now prayerfully seeking how we might go even deeper in our service in our immediate neighborhood and town. Please pray for our ongoing discernment! “…until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:13) We don’t say “education” here. We say “formation.” Formation is God shaping us into the real human beings we were made to be, and that Jesus Christ came to make possible through his self-giving love, through sacrament, prayer practices, learning, mutual support, and service for the life of the world. In Christ, God became human so that we might finally become truly human and share fully in the life of God. In groups that meet regularly, we learn spiritual and prayer practices to encounter each other in love, and to encounter the Spirit of God. We ponder and explore the Holy Bible as the ancient Word of God that is timelessly alive today. We go deep in our Tradition, to receive wisdom from holy ancestors who ground and guide us for the life we live today. ​ The most important place God’s Holy Spirit forms us to be alive like Christ is in our regular, communal prayer and sacramental worship. Next, we are formed by our individual practices of Mass, prayer, penitence, and performing the works of mercy. Children’s Formation: We joyfully include children in Christian formation, certainly in the life of Mass, prayer, penitence, and the works of mercy. We also have children’s formation 9-10 am on Sunday mornings. Parishioners mentor our children in the Big Story of the Bible, ground them in prayer and Holy Tradition, and guide them to reflect on how to live as Christians in daily life. We combine the curriculum Weaving God’s Promises , a lectionary-based program from the Episcopal Church, with learning how to “do” the faith in our parish and the world, what we call praxis. Adult Formation: The heart of formation for adults at Grace is called Catechesis. That’s a deep word that means, roughly, instruction straight from the mouth. It is for the spiritually hungry and the honestly curious. It is a rich and committed form of instruction lasting several rewarding months of discussion, reading, prayer, sharing, and growth. Youth and adults enter Catechesis for preparation for the sacrament of Baptism, Confirmation, or for being received in the Episcopal Church. Catechesis usually begins in autumn each year and meets once a week. It culminates in the sacarments of Baptism or Confirmation, and membership in the life of the Church. ​ In Catechesis , we will: - get a handle on the Big Story of the Bible - learn proven practices of prayer, especially in using the Book of Common Prayer - find out what's particular and good about the Episcopal Church and Anglicanism and Grace's Anglo-Catholic way - find opportunities to serve God's world - and through all the above have a chance to get closer to God and each other. ​ Foundations for Christian Life (Catechesis) Thursdays, 6:30 - 8:30 P.M. Annual Pilgrimage to the American Proto-Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham Grace hosts visitors every October for the annual pilgrimage to the American Proto-Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, which is located in our building. ​ 2023 Pilgrimage: October 13-14 During your pilgrimage to the Proto-Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham at Grace Episcopal Church in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, a luncheon will be offered at noon in St. Nicholas Hall, on Saturday, October 14. Music at Grace Episcopal Church Music at Grace Church is a vital part of our worship. Our 10:15 Solemn Mass on Sunday mornings is rich with traditional hymns, chant and organ. Currently, the music program consists of a volunteer choir supplemented by occasional professional singers, which sings for the Solemn Mass on Sundays and feast days. ​ In addition to the special demands of Christmas and Holy Week, a great deal of priority has gone into the annual Walsingham Pilgrimage weekend in mid- October and the annual Advent Lessons and Carols. ​ In the past, the music schedule has included sung Compline, Evensongs, organ solo recitals, concerts with organ and instruments, and visiting choirs.

All Saints Chapel: A Chapel of Grace Episcopal Church, Sheboygan, WI 2024 Season: All Sundays from Memorial Day to End of September Greetings in the Name of Christ! Grace Episcopal Church, Sheboygan, has offered summer services for vacationers in the Elkhart Lake area since the 1930s. With the Hayssen Foundation, Grace Church acquired property on County Road P and built All Saints Chapel in English country style. It was completed and consecrated in 1951. Ever since its consecration, All Saints has offered Sunday services roughly late May through early September, as well as weddings and other religious services throughout the year by appointment. The head priest, or rector, of Grace Church is the head priest of All Saints, and the rector calls on auxiliary clergy to officiate for most services at this Elkhart Lake mission church. At one time, the current property had a hunter’s cabin. Now, for gatherings we have St Hubertus Hall, named after the patron saint of hunters. All Saints Chapel celebrates St Hubertus Day in early November with a Blessing of the Hunters. Throughout the year, visitors often come to the chapel and grounds for prayer, meditation, recreation, landscape painting, and photography. You are welcome at any time to enjoy the peace and beauty of this most holy place. The prayers of the Ever-blessed Virgin Mary, St Hubertus, and All the Saints protect you! The blessings of God the Holy Trinity go with you! Chapel interior Crucifix behind the altar The Story of Saint Hubertus Hubertus was born the son of a duke in 656 A.D., in what is now France. He led a life full of luxury, leisure, and education. He was good looking and intelligent, strong and energetic, influential and friendly. When he was young, he especially loved the outdoors. He spent much time hunting and was known as an expert bowman. He hunted so much that he didn’t have much time for prayer, hunting even on holy days, which was considered a great sacrilege. His beloved wife and hunting companion, Floribanne, died during Holy Week of 684 and on that Good Friday Hubertus went hunting to console himself. As Hubertus was hunting a stag, he had a vision of a crucifix (the Cross with the crucified Jesus on it) shining between the stag’s antlers. The Lord Jesus Christ told Hubertus in the vision that he needed to find purpose and comfort not only in hunting but even more especially in serving the Gospel. He told Hubertus to go visit a holy bishop, Lambert, to find out what to do next. Hubertus was touched to the heart by this vision and was eager to do what the Lord told him. Hubertus was so committed to the Gospel of Jesus that, under the guidance of holy Bishop Lambert, he gave all his wealth to the poor and his noble titles to his brother. He became a priest and spread the Gospel of Jesus among the country people and hunters he loved so much. He fasted and prayed a great deal, was a moving preacher, took care of the poorest in the countryside, and was a wise steward of the forest and wildlife. Hubertus eventually became Bishop of Liege and was known for his miraculous works of healing. He died peacefully in 727 and was recognized as a saint in 743. His body is in St Hubertus Church in Belgium, which has been the site of pilgrimages and miracles ever since. People who love the outdoors find St Hubertus to be a friend and intercessor, with his special concern for hunters, bowmen, hunting dogs, hunting raptors and falconers, and the inhabitants of the forest. His Feast Day is November 3rd. He has a window dedicated to him in All Saints Chapel, Elkhart Lake, that depicts his vision of the crucified Jesus in the stag’s antlers. And the fellowship hall on the grounds of the chapel is named St. Hubertus Hall, not far from where a hunter’s cabin once stood on the chapel grounds.
